Blissful Bali - Taking it slow in Nusa Dua

The series 'Blissful Bali', is an attempt to cover our 3 different experiences in the Island of the Gods. So here we are at our final destination - Nusa Dua.

The Laguna, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa

In our previous two series on Seminyak and Ubud, we gave you a glimpse of Bali that is trendy yet cultural, tranquil yet full of life and bursting with colors yet so surreal with the Pacific blue.

In our last and final take on Bali, we bring you a slice of this island where we literally let time slow down as we soaked in the unimaginable opulence of the spectacular The Laguna, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua.

A short one hour drive from Ubud, Nusa Dua is known for being a gateway to luxury in the form of stunning international resorts, golf courses, wellness & spa retreats and business convention centers.

Such tropical feels all around!

Our humble abode in Nusa Dua was the The Laguna, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, a beach resort housing seven magnificent lagoon pools, lush flora & fauna, award winning cuisine, brilliant Balinese hospitality and panoramic views of the resplendent Indian Ocean.

The Laguna truly ensures stepping out to explore the city can always wait a day, while you first immerse in luxury that lets you unfold every little detail from waking up to the view of nothing but vast blue pristine waters and calling it a night under the starry skies.

We chose to stay in a Deluxe Lagoon View Room that is studded with Balinese style architecture and decor, extremely spacious with a private balcony, and a sparkling Lagoon access, right from our room.

If you are staying at the Laguna, we recommend dedicating at least one evening to experience the resort's cultural evenings in its outdoor lush green tropical settings.

One of the many activities performed is the Bali Fire Dance. A sight to behold, the traditional dance form includes skilled local artists performing acts using fire and human vocals instead of gamelan instruments.

These dances are mostly performed after sunset in town squares, temples and resorts, making it a stunning act to witness.

These events take place near the Cascade Bar, so you can easily unwind with a delectable cocktail while you immerse yourself in Bali's vibrant culture and art forms.

The Laguna is nestled on Bali's pure white sand beach, where all you wish for is to wander around, doing nothing but watching the mighty gorgeous Indian Ocean. A few things we loved and recommend are:

1. Pick one of the cabanas (recreational hut like structures), and simply spend the day lazing in the sun, read your favorite book or sipping on one of the many signature cocktails from the menu.

2. Walk along the beach and spot the famous swing at the Melia Bali. Take a picture for the gram or just happily relive your childhood. :)

3. Indulge in some fun sports.

4. Watch the breathtaking sun set, in the Indian Ocean.

Breathtaking Sunsets

The Laguna experience is supremely extra-ordinary in many aspects. One such spectacular offering is dining under the stars, in a gorgeous all-white cabana, by the pristine blue ocean.

From an award-winning menu to the warm Balinese hospitality, wine & dine truly finds a new meaning in this island of Nusa Dua.
